I love this time of year -the lights, the carols, the preparation- and especially kneeling by candlelight while singing “Silent Night” at midnight Mass.
But there’s also the opportunity to share gifts with those we love. I thought I’d give you a few ideas by recommending a few of my favorite things.
For the Coffee Lover
Check out Hope Farm Coffee. Great coffee, sourced by a missionary in Honduras that I know personally. They pay local farmers a fair price and roast this coffee up perfectly. The proceeds go to help fund the Hope of Jesus Children’s home. What’s not to love? Great coffee, great cause! $10.00 https://hopefarmcoffee.com/shop/
To Deepen Prayer
I got a “Rugged Rosary” earlier this year and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! It’s heavy, solid feel with stainless beads and paracord stands in stark contrast the the rose-infused, delicate rosaries you often see. I had prayed the rosary on and off over the years, but having this rosary renewed my interest in the practice and I’ve been consistent with it for months. $39.99 https://www.cordbands.com/collections/paracord-rosaries
This historic book is a fantastic resource for traditional Anglican faith and practice. With sections on theology and history as well as devotional prayers and exercises, it’s usually not far from me. It was published over 100 years ago and is still in demand. Particularly in this new wave of modern Anglicanism where many of the classical Anglican practices are less known, this book is as relevant as ever. $22.50 https://anglicanprovince.org/shop/the-practice-of-religion/
